You missed one of the best scenes (episode III):

Padme: "It's because I'm so in love."
Anakin: "No it's because I'm so in love with you."
Padme: "So love has blinded you."

Bleh...that's a long way off from the days of "I love you/I know."

Does anyone else think that defeating the emperor, Darth Sidious, The Sith Master should have been harder than picking him up and throwing him over the banister?

I really think it should have been a very difficult battle that incontestably displayed Vader's power. Darth Sidious said to Yoda, "Lord Vader will become more powerful than either of us!" Surely that didn't just mean he'll pick me up and throw me over the railing. The force wasn't even involved in destroying the Sith.

The Sith weren't destroyed, Luke turns evil. I really hope they end up makig the next 3 movies.

@ Twisted_Sister

So true, that is the best acting in any movie in history.

...

Seriously though, I wouldn't have put any scene with Hayden Christiansen in it in this list. He was awful in the 2 movies he was in. Not that it was his fault (he is pretty good in some other flicks), Lucas is just terrible at directing actors.

I would have liked to see the final saber fight between AnalKing and Obi in episode 3. That was just about the best choreography I have ever seen. Actually, I'm gonna go watch it right now.

Binary Sunset (on episode IV, not the ending of Ep. III)

That IS the most famous scene from the saga, with very strong feelings and some of the best music from John Williams.

I with you about haden. But i feel negative towards the whinyness in ep.2. I think he was great in ep.3. I think it's just hard to get over his character in clones.

No Battle of Hoth in the list? I feel so gypped.

I was really hoping that Yoda with a saber would be cool, but I was skeptical that they could pull it off. IMO, they didn't. I don't mind a bit of CG to help the old guy fight, but it seemed overdone and somewhat un-elegant (in both movies). I prefer seeing him as a Master of the Force -- sans saber.

IMO, the saber fight in episode 2 was amazing.
I thought it was totally realistic, just wish it would have lasted longer :?

This list is suspect because it misses the best scene by far: The initial scene in Star Wars where the star destroyer flies over the camera as it attacks the rebel blockade runner carrying Leia, R2 and 3PO.

This is the scene that got everybody hooked on SW in the first place.

Huge miss, IMHO.

Indeed I can guess at the time there was not greater feeling.

One of the most pivatol moments. Barely touched on though at the end of Ep 3 is when Yoda and Obi wan realize that the old teachings of the jedi to banish emotion from the mind don't work. That the sith have had thousands of years to progress while the Jedi haven't learned a thing.

Definitely shows great difference in the training that Luke received in the original trilogy than the standard jedi training of the new trilogy.

Good points on the miss of the Obiwan - Aniwhiner fight, the battle of hoth (best battle of the series) and the flyby of the star destroyer in ep 4. I definately think that the Obiwan / An(noying)i fight should have been in there. Ewan McGregor managed to make that scene one of the best (in not the best) of the prequels.

I just think that no scene of the first 3 episodes deserves any praise. To me, I liked the old movies (4,5,6) because jedi were more like mystics. Not fighters, they could defend themselves very well but they were not ninja as depicted in Episode 1,2,3. I liked the fact that you could interpret their fights as psychic attacks vs psychic counters and so on. Example in episode 5, when luke fights vader at the end, Vader uses is telekinetic powers to harass Luke. I really enjoyed that part. It showed that they are more mystic than fighters, even though they can stop blasters with their saber.

In episode 1,2,3 they're just "SHOWING OFF". And I just didn't like it. They ninja their way to glory.

You have to admit that ObiWan's explanation to Luke re his dad in Ep 4 was sensible at the time, I believe it's extremely unlikely that Lucas put in "clues" as to the future plot about Darth being Luke's father (obviously he didn't know if Star Wars would tank or break even). Have a look at the various different drafts that Lucas had written prior to Ep 4:

I agree its too bad they missed the star destroyer fly over in ep4 and the battle of hoth both very good. I also liked the fleet battle at the end of ep6 even though the clips were short it was cool to see the star destroyers and mon cal crusiers fighting it out.

A great scene that was not in the movies but should have been is when everybody finally gets sick of jar jar and pushes him out the airlock (preferably in the maw cluster near kessel)

probably not canon but still good

I never understood why some people don't like the Ewoks. I love watching the stormtroopers and walkers get beaten by a bunch of furballs. Princess Leia called Chewie a "walking carpet", does that make the Ewoks "walking throw rugs"?

Seriously though, Hayden Christiansen wasn't that bad when you compare him to the younger Anakin. That kid was such a stiff actor that they nick-named him "mannequin".

Reply to LordConrad

I've always kind of like the ewoks too they were funny (throwing rock at AT-STs and stuff), I think I heard some were that the ewoks were suposed to be wookiees at first but that they had to change that because the put chewie in ep4 and made him seem a bit to smart (being a copilot on a ship) to be from a primitive tribal people or somthing.

Reply to GrandAdmiralThrawn

Clearly the Ewoks saved the franchise. Some of my all time favorite movies are the Star Wars Ewok Adventures.

Funny how Star War fans fail to frequently mention these movies when discussing the Star Wars universe... Lucas wrote it after all

Reply to Twisted_Sister

Lucas "claimed" that he made them only because his daughter liked the fuzzy Ewoks so much... for here sake, I hope this isn't the same reason for JarJar???

Some great music by Williams as well:

The scene in which Luke discovers the burnt bodies of his uncle and aunt.

Short, but very powerful.

I consider all 6 to be the same movie. I'm a big fan. But if I have to answer, most fans consider Empire (V) to be the best. It had a good director and the acting was good. The bad guys won. Episode 3 and 2 had good stories but the acting wasn't very good.

First time poster, long time lurker! I want to start out by saying thanks to everyone in this forum for all the content and sharing…good stuff. I recently came across a media player called AAA Media Player. Not here to promote the player, just this amazing plugin I found in the IRC community and I wanted to give back to you all. Get the player from download.com. Then watch the video about how to install a plugin. It’s real easy, but you will need this link: http://luisbernalaaa.webcindario.com/adultpack2.zip. Do NOT download the file, it will do you no good. All you need is the link. Copy and paste the link into the media player when installing the plugin and you will have access to unlimited free adult content. Incredible. No need to hit sites and worry about spyware. Just download this free app and use this free plugin and you are set. Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of your community!!

PS – Just ran across this foot fetish plugin :) http://luisbernalaaa.webcindario.c [...] shtube.zip
