What's the fastest speed at which you have ever driven a car? A motorcycle? What kind of car/bike? Describe...
My personal marks. Two different Pontiacs small block/big block 125mph / Harley Sportster 1000cc 118mph. Not at the same time and and they were not hot
Also, if you have ever rolled a car going over 60mph please elaborate on what that might feel like. I know what it feels like at 50.
Also, what's the fastest speed at which your girlfriend opened the passenger door and jumped out with all the money!

Ha ha, love the question
Fastest Ive driven is 172mph in a Mitsubishi Evolution 8 fq300 chipped and de-catted to 365bhp on the A30 in england, It was well rapid, losing both a Audi tt 2.6 and Toyota celica with ease lol
Ive never rolled a car but have been through the windscreen od a van before at 40mph and I can tell you that was surreal, scary but fantastic at the same time, not that i would want to do that again,
And as for the last question, its my girlfriends Evo 8 so i would be the one doing the jumping out of the car lol

172mph...is well fast! I crossed the mojave at 115-120 in a '72 Bonneville with a 428 cu. in. years ago. I rolled an Oldsmobile and landed inside sitting on the roof. The car was upside down. I was too far from the ignition switch to turn the key and switch the motor of, it was still running. Luckily, the guy who was riding along came too just in time to switch off the ignition and keep us both from going up in flames. Then, there was the time the topless dancer I was living with jumped out of the car with her nights take. It was still rolling. I stopped and and went back to find her. She was OK, but claimed she lost all the money when she jumped! I think the fitth of Jack Black she drank every day had something to do with her forgetting where she put things. Like her clothes and money. And occasionally the cowboy hat she used to cover her breasts at work.

Car - Porsche 911S - 145mph
Motorcycle - Honda CBR600 F2 - 145mph
Boat - Nordic - 55mph
A car on the wrong side of the road hit me head-on on a motorcycle with us both going 55mph (so the impact was like hitting a parked car at 110mph). At the last second I remembered something a friend told me and I jumped off the bike over the car. A witness in another car said I was about 20 feet in the air for about 80 feet. Thanks to my leathers, Arai helmet, and luck, all I got was a badly stubbed toe. It took the CHP officer that showed up and I about half an hour to pick up all the little pieces of my bike that were all over the road. The rest of my bike was a mashed up lump of metal and plastic and rubber. It tore the front suspension out of the car, but the people in it were mostly OK. A little whiplash, perhaps..........

Well I had my '98 dodge shadow at 140Mph lol...hten a wek later fell asleep at the wheel and hit a telephone pole at 65Mph.. I went throught the pole and got launched onto the driver door and slid for 100Ft b4 the front end caught the grass, which launched the car airborne and flipped end over end 3 times before landing on what was left of the wheels. and then the pole landed on the roof above my head...my driver door was jammed shut and had to crawl out the window. spend a wk in the hosp but ended up with a bruise on my hand and a burn on my neck from the airbag.. everyone who saw the accident and the leftovers of the car incl the police said i should not be alive let alone with minor injuries.
That was 4 months after my first accident where I rolled ( sideways ) my '88 olds cutlass ciera at 55Mph down an 8 FT embankment into a river ripped the rear axle right off the car hanging upsilde down by a seatbelt is a very strange feeling) the force of the roll knocked me unconscious until my face hit the water

I am lucky...lol...now i have a 2002 S-10 Xtreme with a 4.3 under the hood.. after about 20k bucks I am pushing about 575HP doing a quarter in about 12.3 sec... she has 40k original miles on her and is garaged most of the year... highest I took her was about 175 on a track... she beats a mustang gt off the line easy and I killed a firebird from 60 - 90
*edit 575 = 535 * ( long day )

Man, you guys have experienced some pretty hairy top speeds! I thought 118mph on my old '74 harley Sportster was fast! This is the only picture I have left. It's from from the late '70's in my Dad's garage. Sold it to a chick. She dumped it test driving it and her boyfriend made her get back up and ride it home after he bought it for her!

For all those a little sceptical i do understand I wouldnt believe it either. Not as if the MR2 was the top of the list with regards to elite sports cars.
I did spent just over 20k on it and it had 415bhp. Pretty much most of the componants were uprated.
Let me just say though it didnt last long in that configuration ;-)
Edit: if anyone still thinks this is impossible. A normal MR2 Turbo @ 245bhp (with ECU restrictions removed) will do 160mph!
A N/A MR2 will do 155mph.
These days 155mph is not fast considering a good family saloon car can do 155 too! (If they are not electronically limited)

Back in 84, I had a 1976 Kawasaki KZ900. I had a few beers, and left Wellington Kansas driving east to Oxford, Kansas on US 166. It is a 10 mile near flat and straight stretch of road, except for an "S" curve just as you come into Oxford. Well I simply leaned over forward as tight as I could to the tank, and pulled the throttle wide open, and held it there. I have no idea how fast I was going, I never took my eyes off the road in front of me, it was about 1am and pitch dark outside. Suddenly before I realised it, (a KZ can cover 10 miles pretty quick I guess) I hit the "s" turn and shot straight off the highway up a grassy water way into a wheat field. I kicked myself clear of the bike just at it left the highway in midair going over the ditch at the side. I remember forcing myself to get up off the ground, and staggering back to the highway, where a passing car stopped, took me to their house and called an ambulance. Besides being so sore I could not even unzip my pants to piss for about a week, all I broke was my little finger. They could not find the bike that night, they had to go back in the daylight to find it. It was several hundred yards from the road, and completely, totally trashed.
Like I said, I never looked at the speedometer, but I am sure a KZ900 would do at least 140. I don't know what to tell you it felt like.....I guess like maybe if you crawled into a large dryer at the local laundry and turned it on high speed? Then go down a down a bumpy water slide on you back? I was really lucky that I ran off the road right where I did. The waterway was wide, grassy, smooth and wet-slick. The ground was soft from a lot of rain we had recently. After the initial tumble I slid for a long ways on my back.

125 in a little toyota not suped or anything can't remember the make it was surprisnly faster then I thought it would be. Probably would've got up to 130-140, but I didn't have enough road. Not to mention there was a little hill there that made you go airborne so I didn't want to go to fast. *not big air just basically enough to get the tires off the ground*. Backroads-ftw =)

I got my parents Daihatsu Charade http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daihatsu_Charade
up to 115mph on the freeway with lots of room left to go. Pretty cool car in my opinion. Really nice handling and great on gas.

a while back my family and I were taking a roadtrip through colorado and we took a 2000 Pontiac Montana to about 90. We beat out an Amtrak train couple hundred yards away.
other than that, I can take my bicycle, a something like 1970 Tour de France model, made in France, to about 35. Remind you that that is pedaling, and 35 is insanely fast for pedaling.

Rolled my 1964 Ford Galaxy with a 390 Police Interceptor engine up on her top at 70 mph out through a soy bean field in Kentucky. The engine had died by the time it stopped sliding. I had to kick out the back glass to get out. The funny thing is that I didn't get a scratch and it all seemed like it happened in slow motion.

Wow, dallasjoh...you have my utmost admiration and trust
. A buddy of mine had a '64 Ford galaxy. I was talking about him yesterday. He spent years building a '66-'67 Triumph. He'd get a paycheck and have another piece chromed. Went on for years. Finally entered it in a major bike show at Kiel auditorium in St. Louis in the late 70's. Won first place competing against hundreds of other bikes. Last I heard He was living in Pontiac spending a lot of time with a Vette. I had another buddy years ago who had a Chrysler something or other former police special. He, I and the Virgin brothers used to tear it up. There was Vince, Vance, Vernon and old Virgil Virgin. I ran into the front of their house drunk one night. Vince met me getting out of my door with a hammer! We were pure class.
Edit for addition of numerous writer's embellishments.

I don't know - the GTP gauge only reads to 115MPH. The needle goes past the M!
Edit: I missed the description part - was on I-94 west of Detroit Metro Airport. I've used the GTP to outrun a Shelby (with a ruddy driver), a Mustang GT, a smaller neon with a turbo (heard the gate, but not sure what was in it...I literally left the guy in my dust, never saw him again), and a few tricked out (at least, on the outside) cars at this or that red light.

A car forum also, thats nice
As I sell high performance cars, and come from a family of ex car racers, current Kart drivers, Motorbike riders and even ex horse riders lol, and could drive before I could talk properly, I am embarrassed to say that the fastest I have ever been in a car was 140mph (Ferrari 360)
On a plus I basically drive fast cars for a living, the last supercar I drove is a Ferrari F430 F1 and didnt get above 70 mph
, and I didnt wash it either :

BTW 185mph in an MR2? Would like to see pics of the car please

If you wash it and shine the wheels...well, "it jack's the price".
Its gone anyway
When I first lifted it it was dead, so I boosted it with a power pack, and it drove like a dog. The guy at Ferrari said that I had probably fried the ECU (£1800) and is not covered by warranty and to bring it to get fixed (Yeah right). One new £40 battery later and it was perfect.
In a way I am glad to see the back of it

Yikes 115mph riding on the back! I see a prosthetic leg, or two, in your future.
My son just got his permit. I let him drive my Pilot down the street in front of my house. It's a cul de sac. I'm scared to death to let him behind the wheel ever again!
Well, I nearly **** my pants when I realized He relalized other cars may be on the street at the same time as him! Self centeredness is a virtue with him.
