OEM Hard Drives

Last month there was a question about any disadvantages OEM hard drives. The consensous was that there really aren't any. What about hardware although it's probably just some small screws and will I need any drivers or will XP Home take care of it?

Thanks,

Tom

  1. Well, I've never purchased a retail hard drive, so I don't know if they usually come with screws or anything else, but everything you need should come with the other components. Screws come with the case usually. Don't worry about it.
  2. Ya, just junk like cables screws and sata cards, no big
  3. Hah! A lot of stores sell grey market drives as OEM, these are drives purchased new from the surplus of major OEM's and they have no manufacturer warranty whatsoever.
