Hello All,
If I have an XP 2600+ with a 333 FSB what would the performance differences be between running it with the follow RAM speeds?

1) 266 mhz
2) 333 mhz
3) 400 mhz

Does CPU FSB and memory speed need to match in order to get best performance without any wasted mhz? What I mean is, will the CPU not be able to perform at its fastest with 266mhz ram and/or will the 400mhz memory not be at peak performance because the the CPU 333mhz FSB?

Run CPU and memory syncro is the best option. I would never use 266Mhz memory with 333FSB CPU. Using better memory makes sense as you can overclock the CPU or run it with better timings. About timings, THG have done an article comparing diferent timings and the conclusion is: is NOT worth pay a lot more for reducing timings.
