Well my search has come down to these two laptops both will be around $500 and have the things i want, both are refurbished now it just comes to some advice from you guys,

Depending on the use it may not matter. The Turion X2s are for the most part cheaper than Core2s as well. So if price is a big concern stick with the X2 since they are comparable to the CoreDuos and have 64-bit support.

Yeah the athlon x2 are cheaper, but if he can find a core2duo laptop in his $ range, then he better go for it

Gateway MT6458 has a bigger hard drive and with a shared memory .

Both systems have integrated graphics with shared memory, so that isn't much of a point. As for the hard drive, I would rather have the extra gig of RAM on the second system then the extra 40gb of space on the first. I agree with HardWareBoss though, it is a bit of a coin toss since neither system has much of an edge over the other.
