Hello, I can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere for some reason.
I'm getting a new laptop, which has USB 3.0 ports. My android smartphone uses USB 2.0. If I buy a USB 3.0 cable, will I be able to utilize the full enhanced power (and less concern, data) transfer rate of USB 3.0 with my phone?
Or will I have to have a USB 3.0-compatible phone?
USB 3.0 is compatible with USB 2.0. You'll probably see a bit of an increase in performance, but nowhere near say, two USB 3.0 devices transferring data.
You won't see much, if any increase because your phone is probably not built with USB 3.
