It doesn't matter, since such a player will not "burn in" in any
physical sense. Just play it and enjoy it.

Yes, because each format uses a slightly different circuit, and each one needs to be
burned in. Make sure you mark the edge of the CD , the DVD-A and the SACD with a green
pen too, to accelerate the burn-in process.

What is "the burn-in procedure"?

Attach cables, plug the unit in and turn it on. At this point the unit
is all burned in!

The "objectivists" who are on this USENET newsgroup are usually of the
opinion that all audio gear works identically from the moment it is
first turned on until the point that there is some significant failure,
in terms of how it sounds, or measures.
Others seem to have had experiences where shifts in perception of the
performance of a given device occur over time, especially between the
time a piece is first turned on and some later point in time.
Those who believe that they have experienced this are quite convinced
that it can and does happen. Those who do not believe this can happen
and/or have never heard it happen are quite convinced that those who do
think that it can happen are either delusional, or else more politely,
"fooling themselves."
It has been discussed here that your "ear learns" how to become
familliar with a given piece of gear over time, and that this may be the
effect in hand. This is certainly *an effect* that plays a role in
perception.
Those who rely upon measurements thus far have not been able to isolate
the "break-in" effect, although it is not clear exactly how this has
been attempted thus far. It doesn't matter really.
There is no harm in cycling your new player in any and all of the
formats. It's not going to hurt.
There is potentially an objective change to be had at least in
capacitors - if that is audible is rather irrelevant, it is measureable
to some extent. So, one could point to this as the "main" source of A
break-in effect in active components... if one wanted to point.

I would polish up all those discs with Armor All before using that green
pen.

And make sure that the player is lined up correctly with any nearby
ley lines. All these things are equally *crucial* to good sound!
