Help. I downloaded an ebook DVD, and I burned the ISO image to the DVD-R. Now I used a program called undisker to extract the ISO.image from the DVD to the hard drive. Whenver I click to unzip a file it says its an invalid archive. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to extract the ISO and then burn it to a DVD? Thanks.

Doesn't your utility have some kind of function to check for readability, and/or integrity? If not, how about trying ISOBuster instead. It'll also allow you to extract the contents of ISO files without the need to burn, and it can also check your archive for errors.

Do you have Nero by an chance? If so, select Burn Image (nero 5 under file, nero 6 under recorder menus) and select that image. Then burn it, and it should work.

I tried to use Nero 6 but it said that the ISO image was over 1 GB and was unable to burn it under ISO. It said to burn it as a UDF. Also, I burned the DVD cause it is for my friend. I will try to use ISOBuster. I am unable to unzip the files from the hard drive, but I am able to unzip them from the DVD.

You might look around and see if there is any virtual DVD-ROM software. I'll bet there is.

With virtual CD-ROM you can mount an ISO file and read/use the contents as if it were a real CD-ROM. Hopefully you can do the same with DVD ISOs. It would save you the time and trouble of burning an image only to find out that the image has problems or the burned DVD has problems. It's just a thought.

You need ALCOHOL 120%.... or cloneCD both have a Virtual DRIVE.......... i prefer ALCOHOL......... its easy to use........ Open Alcohol and Add Image... and then right click the ISO and say MOUNT TO the Virtual Drive, and then go to MyComputer, double click so you can see your drives, and Double click the Virtual Drive it should open your File easily....

alcohol will open pretty much any IMAGE file........ .ISO whether it's a movie or whatever, you will be able to read the INFO in that file with the virtual drive........ it might not PLAY the movie, but it will give you access to the VOB flies and all that [-peep-] so you can download it to a DVD...

In the past I've used Daemon Tools for CD .ISOs and the like - it worked flawlessly. It seems the latest version allows DVD emulation, but I didn't check the details fully:

<A HREF="http://www.daemon-tools.cc/portal/daemonhelp.php?helppage=2#helpstart" target="_new">http://www.daemon-tools.cc/portal/daemonhelp.php?helppage=2#helpstart</A>

A quick google search on virtual DVD threw up this, may be of interest for DVD drive emulation:

Hi

The ISO format is a 'CD image' that can be stored on a hard disk. How did you burn the ISO image on a DVD-R, using what program?

After burning the ISO image, you should not have a .iso file on the DVD. It should be normal data DVD. Sounds like you haven't really extracted the ISO image yet.

Hope this helps :)

LIKE I SAID!! ALCOHOL 120% is rediculous....... its so easy to use like........... open the application and click IMAGE BURNING WIZARD, find your FILE and burn!....... but that's if the file will fit on CD, if you need a DVD....... then just go to NERO, click ADD IMAGE, and then make sure you select BURN IMAGE!
