Is that a question? How weak and insecure.
You should make a bold statement such as,

"It has been silent here the last couple of days!!!1!"

Be sure to add the multiple !!! and the 1! typo to indicate you were
typing quickly and aggressively in your convictions.

I'm home. I just got a different job and am still getting used
to the new schedule.

Is it Friday yet?

I guess this would be more my style:

"It has been siolent here the last couple of days!!!1!?+?"

Anyhow, I wondered whether the apparent lack of new messages during the
weekend was due to problems with my ISP. Or something like that.

Well, for my part I have been trying to catch up on a back log of
unwatched movies, built a bunch of computers for a church (for free - I'm
so nice), and was the chauffeur to the airport for my parents while they
went to Columbus, Ohio for some contest my Dad was involved in.

Yes. It was the big story of the week in the news media over here.

I shall take it to Supreme Court then. It's in violation of my

ROFL. That sounds somewhat British to me, or at least that's the way they
pronounce "silent" in my ears.

It's a reference to the line Charlton Heston says at the end of Soylent
Green. (A movie about an overpopulated world where the dead are secretly
turned into crackers.)

Yay for your dad!

Sorry about that haven't had time to tweak details since the new
install after getting the new board.
So far, no lockups. One stick of my old RAM (that wasn't in the puter
at the time) did check out with several errors n Memtest 3.2, so I got
them sent off to OCZ. This is PNY RAM that I'm running now.
I had a few BSODs at first, evidently because I was trying to get my
PC3200 DDR to run at the specified 400Mhz. By default, my two sticks
of double-sided DIMMs revert to DDR333 when used together, but Asus
said you can get around this my manually adjusting the clock in the
BIOS, which I did, but it works better to just leave it to the
defaults.
Checking now to see if sig works better now.

Thanks. Still tweaking things a bit. My RAM is on the way back from
OCZ, my new board is very stable, but now it seems my video card might
be going a bit blooie. Talked to BFG today, downloaded Driver Cleaner
Pro, shredded the old drivers and installed their recommended 71.89
drivers. I'm still having a problem with 3-d games and video
playback. The games will freeze and the sound will stutter for a few
seconds, then run ok for a minute, then repeat until it gets so it's
freezing more than it's not. And the video playback looks like it
being rendered in 16-color, all grainy, blurry and overbright.
BFG tech guy says there may be a problem with the rendering engine or
somesuch.

I've had that sort of thing happen with intense 3d games. Rebooting has
always fixed it. It might be as simple as the fact that my 5600 has no
heatsinks on the ram but I'm not going to worry about it now.

They actually have a lifetime warranty - not one of those pseudo lifetime
warranties that really means the marketing life of the card. I'll have to
keep them in mind the next time I'm looking for a video card.
