Erace HD- urgent?

I need to wipe my hard drive before I rma it. I have lots personal information on there that would be bad if someone else found, mainly my past taxes. Any ideas?
PS. the drive clicks, doesn’t detect in bios. So I have no internal access. I was thinking of using a magnet but I don’t know if that will void my warranty.
PSS. If anyone has any idea on how I can recover my data that would be an even better help.

You will need a pretty strong magnet to wipe the data. So I doubt this is possible, and since the drive is dead you have no way of checking whether you are succesfull. And if you somehow manage to permanently magnetize some part of the drive, you may void warranty.
I wouldn't worry too much about the personal data. No one is going to recover it.
