3 months ago i thought this was a far-fetched idea that would take a long time to get itself going. but recently i came across this:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/NBmicro/BIYConfig.html

it looks pretty good! you get a lot for your money and is on par with big brands. (although the chassis could use some redesigning!). not sure who else or what other component is available, but i think these have a good market coming to them.

just wanted to know what do you guys think.

I think it always depends on the warranty when dealing with the DIY jobs.

I built a dell laptop(inspiron 1520) for $1006 including tax and shipping; t7500, 8600gts, 2 gb ram, 160 hdd, vista home premium. In that DIY the choices they offer you are crap. The laptop isnt even high end. Most high end laptops(alienware, dell xps, etc) charge you extra $$ just for being "High end", a xtra $1000 for a 8700gt?!? (which is basicly, to my knowledge, a overclocked 8600gt.) So DIY would be nice if they offered high end parts at marginal prices.
