I would like to talk (chat) with anyone using stacked QUAD ESL-57's. I
customed built a set a few years ago and still enjoy using them. I modeled
them after the Levenson HQD system. Twin KEF B-139 subwoofers in a 12 foot
transmission lines and Decca ribbon tweeters.
James
BTW - the last person that I know that used them was a women in Portland, OR
by the name (then) Cindy Lewis. At one time there was a person in PDX that
used 3 pair of the classic speaker system.

What about them?
I don't have them, but I've heard them quite a few times.
Worked with the Deccas extensively
And worked with the Quads, and Quad cells...

I'm just curious if folks are still using the system and how many are out
there. I've not had any issues other than my wife thinks they are hideous
large for a 'hi-fi' loudspeaker.

They're not all *that* large! :- )
I would think that she would find them "nice" to listen to.
You might get more WAF by taking her to a store or other audiophiles
house and letting her *try* to listen to those speakers - it's hard to
beat those Quads even today.
Btw, what are you using for amps and the rest of the system?

I also use stacked Quads for more than 20 years now and I'm very happy with
them. Have a look at my homepage (sorry up to now only available in German
language)

Main units are driven with Marantz 8b's in triode mode. Custom (my design)
pre-amp and crossover electronics.
