Looking at one of these two for the 20 year old college son who wants to play moderately new games and *must* World of Warcraft.
Looked at the Asus hottie, but for 1800 buck beyond the dad budget to justify.
Looked at other AMD Turions that hae 1+ gig DDR2, and T7500 chip.

Ideas please.

Thanks!

Can you list the specifications of these laptops?

If they have a T7500 in them, they are Intel based not AMD. Generally, you will want to look for something with a Core2 processor (like the T7500), 2gb of RAM, Hard drive of your choosing, and a dedicated graphics card (basically anything but the following; Intel 950, X3100, NV 6150 or ATI Xpress 1200).

------------------------------ LAPTOP: Sager NP5760|T7200|2gb DDR2-667| 100gb 7200rpm HDD| 512mb 7950GTX|17'' WUXGA

Desktop: Core2 E7200 | Corsair 2gb DDR2-800 | Gigabyte EP35-DS3L | 250gb Seagate Barracuda | MSI GTX260 (192 SP) | Corsair VX550 | Antec 300 case

Try getting a dell Vostro with a decent Core 2 Duo CPU (One of the T7*** ones) and an 8600m GT. They come in at less than $1000 and are fanatastic performers.

The last thing I would want my son playing in college is MMORPG's. Huge waste of time and down go the grades.

You're talking to a college student right here who plays games. lol

Unfortunately for me, my school's firewall seems to block server ports for the games I like to play (COD2 and 4). Damn school. lol

Well some kids are disciplined enough to balance education with games, but sadly enough, most are not.
