For the past few days I've noticed that my LG DVD drive isn't being detected at all by Windows after my system runs for a while. I'm not sure if it's a particular set of actions that causes this to happen because it detects it again after I reboot. It's possibly labeled as an unknown device in Device Manager because there aren't any optical drives listed, but there is an unknown device showing.
I've checked the SATA and power connections and everything is okay, and I've searched for a solution but nothing relevant to my issue shows up. I can't try the registry/filters fix because my drive isn't listed in Device Manager when this issue occurs. I tried scanning with AVG, Avast, Spybot, and Malwarebytes but nothing malicious shows up. Is there a way to check if BIOS is detecting the DVD drive after the issue occurs? If I reboot it will detect it because the drive works upon rebooting.
Any idea? and sorry if I posted this in the wrong section!
