I have a friend who professes LG manufactures all/most other notebooks for other companies such as Gateway, Dell, Acer, HP, etc.

Now, I know this can't possibly be true. It just doesn't make sense. I can understand them using LG LCDs inside the machines, but the entire machine built by LG is just absurd.

I can't find any actual evidence to the contrary online through searches, can anyone point me to at least 1 credible source which would give my argument some backup?

This is about the best I could find. It doesn't have LG on the page but it says that Quanta and Compal also make some of Dell's and HP's laptops.
