I got a nasty bug, via my wife. Once the threat was gone, I noticed my scanner wouldnt work. I've done just about everything I could think of, uninstalled reinstalled, new cables new ports, IRq changes, but nothing has worked. Any ideas?

FYI, the message I get is " One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it"

Cheers and thanks

Ain't computers fun.

Just a guess, but it may be a registry value. Or a missing dll the driver needs.
Have you verified your usb ports work with other devices?

And see if you can get some help from the Epson website.

Another thing that sometimes works, when the driver prompts you to plug in the usb cable, instead press ctr-alt-delete and see if some running process is
getting in the way.------sometimes killing the current process gets the driver over the hill.

Good luck.
