I am going to purchase a laptop in the near future. I plan to run Windows XP which requires 512mb of memory. I am currently going to put 2gigs into it, is that overkill? I do some gaming along with image editing/art programs and simple word processing. Should I go with the minimal 512mb, 1gig, or the 2 gigs. 2 would alow me to upgrade to vista in the future if I need to.

All coments are apreciated.

you should get at least 1GB and if you can afford it, 2GB especially if you're planning to eventually go with Vista

Yes I agree that if you use the vista you should get 2GB.

2 GB Ram would be your best bet.

2GB would be the best espacially if you're thinking about upgrading to Vista later on.
