hello im new to these forums and i was looking to buy a new monitor with HD for gaming. and i can get this one on discount from where i work so can you tell me if this monitor is a good monitor for games such as counter strike source. mainly just fps games.

do you mean the Dell W3706MC...i helped a freind hook his up during the hollidays and was really impressed. DVD movies and HD signals were spark-free. watched a football game and as the camera paned the crowd i didnt see any ghosting like in older monitors - nice colors too.
DVI to HDMI cable was used for PC mode - this cable is over $100 but an unshielded $50 cable from sears worked fine (it may not work for everybody). the desktop looked as sharp as his 2405fpw which was sitting in the corner temporarily, so we fired up DOOM3 and set it up for widescreen. i saw ghosting of course, but it really is minimal, just like the 2405. plus im picky having always used CRT's with vsync enabled. i dont have much experience with other LCD's but knowing how much people like the 2405 they should like this monitor.
