I have hit a delima. Viewsonic has stopped making the VP191B, one of their best monitors. The VP930B which has replaced it, isn't as fast but delivers a tad better colure accuracy.

I am a gamer!
Should I try to get a VP191B? or just forget about it and go for the VP930B.

I really wanted the VP191B simply because it was so well balanced. It delivered fast gaming performence, while also having a good everyday use, like wathing the occasinal movie.

Should I try to get a VP191B? or just forget about it and go for the VP930B?

HELP ME!

thx

Why a LCD monitor? ... because your neighbor has one? to impress your friends?

Unfortunately LCD is a technology already "in-developement", namely you cannot purchase a LCD monitor for all usages and working REALLY fine for: Movies, Design, Games, TV, etc.

That is false....you can buy high end LCDs that are very comparable to CRT's.

They are costly...but you can.

CRT's are still best for a lot of things but its not by the huge margin you are trying to put out there.

if nothing else buy a 37" LCD tv......you can't buy a CRT that big, or even close.

Why not get an LCD montior, sharper picture, maby, and not having a 19/21in. Monster on your desktop maby?

I feel that LCD technology has cought up enough for me to make the move to one. The VP191B is one of the perfectly balanced monitors that there is and viewsonic decided to stop making it. WHY!!!!

So back to original question. Should I go for VP191B (if i can find one) or the VP930!

You mean this:

You ever hear of a budget? For me it would be like $500 max on a monitor.

Yes, i have heard of a budget....hence my free computer monitors i have sitting here in front of me. But you never listed a budget so i assumed you wanted something that was going to be the best of the best.....my bad.

the 2005 from dell isa great monitor as well...but again out of your budget. THere are copons online that can get you 25% off pretty regulalry and 35% off about every 2-3months.....at 35% off its $380.....

so if you are willing to wait till there is a deal, and with t-giving and x-mas around the corner you will have many sales...you can get that.

other then that i have no aedvice for you....sorry

I SAID THE 2005....its the 20" little brother of the 2405.

The lowest i have ever seen for a 2405 is 613. ANd that included calling the dell line, and getting a GREAT deal down to around 750bucks and then using a coupon that wasn't allowed.

Can the 2005 compare to the VP191B? I was looking for a 19in. monitor that was good for gaming at resolutions around 1280x1024 and the VP191B satisfied all of them.

Can I have a review of the 2005 from a review site like Toms Hardware? Can it compare to the VP191B/VP930? What's the latency on the monitor (is it on dells site?)? Is it as fast as the VP191B? I don't really want a widescreen monitor, and of a monitor of that size, I don't see it being nearly as fast as the VP191B.

I have used a CRT all my life. I need a LCD that is fast enough so I won't exactly notice ghosting to easily. No ghosting to you is completly different than no ghosting to me.

The monitor will be primarily used for gaming so if you want to suggest another one, go ahead.
