As you lower the latencey do you also increase the chances of instability.

If a quality brand pair of ddr modules are installed into a quality branded mobo 800mhz fsb, proper quality PSU, and proper cpu cooling and over clocking is not intended would it then be a good idea to leave the factory timings as is or as is recommended by the manufacturer.....Thank You.......Vista

- If the manufacturer has recommended timings for our particular chipset (or motherboard with same chipset or memory controller), then it would be a good idea to go with those recommended timings if we don't feel comfortable experimenting with different timings - maximizing performance while maintaining stability. If our chipset (or motherboard with same chipset or memory controller) isn't mentioned by the manufacturer and don't feel comfortable experimenting with different timings, we could run the memory at factory timings as long as there are no stability problems.

- If memory doesn't run according to spec, it may be necessary to manually increase memory voltage in the BIOS.
