hi guys
i have a dell latitude d600. i think i am having some overheating issues. im using it from yesterday, it is currently on for 36hrs i think. my current temps are as follows:
mainboard 46
cpu 40
hdd 46
and one more temp, i dont know what it is exactly and that is 40
all the temps are in degrees. these temps are in idle condition. but under load the cpu temp touches 72 degrees and i think it can go higher. currently where my hdd is present, that place is hot, not burning but uncomfortable to put my hand on it and type. anyone have any idea of what can i do about it, or is this normal as i am using a laptop for the first time. i use desktops normally. hope to hear from u guys soon. thanks.

The lattitudes don't have great cooling so the temps are probably normal. If you have a dual core CPU, the second 40 is probably the second core.

Two things to try:
1) get a can of compressed air and blow the dust out of the fans and such.

2) Buy a cooling pad.

Mobile CPUs are designed to take temps up to 100C so 70 is okay, not great but okay.
