I decided to fork the X-tra cash and brought the Sharp Aquos, model #Sharp LC-32D7U 32". I brought this baby for 1360.00 and hopefully it arrive by New Year's Eve. I heard the image quality on the Sharp is excellent and compare it to the overpice Sony, Sharp is a better buy. I have look far and wide for LCD, before making my choice on the Sharp LCD.

First I did look at the Soyo 32" LCD and their newer model only cost 960.00 (included free S/H and no tax). I think the price was excellent, but Soyo just recently entered the LCD market and that didn't fair so well with me.

Second I looked at the Syntax brand of LCD. I almost brought it at Thanksgiving, on Black Friday. So many people at CircuitCity, Best Buy, and CompUSA. I couldn't manage to get my hand on it, since so many people wake up so early for it. How ever, I almost did purchase Syntax 32" LCD when target have it on sale for 899.00 dollars (After I entered the code for 10% off, the final price with S/H was 906.00 dollars). There was type two of Syntax model, HVM and the HVE (they cost was the same). The HVM contrast ratio was not as good as the HVE and the HVM did not have a built in Turner. I did not realize I have choosen the wrong model when I submitted my order form to target. Later, I decided to cancel my order and try to get the HVE instead, but it was out of stock . Then I saw another great deal on the HVM and the cost saving was greater than Target. A merchant decided to sale the HVM at 799 + 40 for S/H. The total price is 840.00 dollars and you don't even need the rebate. Again I hold off my temptation.

Third, I went to E-bay for LCD. I bid for the newer model of JVC LCD w/ASTC Turner. It was a very nice LCD. I was too new at E-Bay and did not won the bid. I bid 960.00 and the guy bid last, bid 970.00 dollars. Lost by 10.00 dollars and was very mad and disappointed.

After days of agony and a chance for redemption, I finally was able to secure a winning hand on the Sharp 32" LCD. The price I paid for it, is very good. I never see this LCD at a lower price than what I'm paying for. I do believe big name like Sony and Sharp do over price their LCD. There are five major companies that make LCD panel and Sharp is among one of the them. Sony claim they do make LCD panel, but I believe their production line is in Samsung factory. Sony did claim their are indenpent from Samsung when make LCD panel, but when you share the same FAB, it is hard to believe. Also Samsung makes LCD panel for TV longer than Sony. The other major LCD panel maker are LG (yes, they over charge their LCD too) and can't remember the other two. I think the other two is from China and Taiwain. Of the 5 LCD panel makers, Sharp is the biggest fish.

I also looked at Samsung 32" LCD and recently their price have dropped some what. By the time I looked at the Samsung LCD, I already purchase the Sharp LCD. I find a great bargain on the Samsung LCD. It cost 1150.00 dollars (included free shipping and no tax). The only catch was, it was an open box and have 90 days warranty on it. If I have not purchase the Sharp LCD, I would have purchase this instead. As long it still have some warranty on it and it comes with all the accessories on it, I'm fine by it. The lowest Samsung 32" I found that is not an open box is 1440.00 dollars (included S/H). This is fine LCD at decent price. For those that at looking for a decent LCD, this is one of them. Very fast refresh rate and very stylish. Also if people want to use their LCD TV primary for computer, I suggest getting Westinghouse 37" TV. The resolution is like 1900 X 1000 and the price is good. It also use 1080P format, which is a new standard.

I hope my LCD arrive in time. The Sharp LCD better be crystal clear like their name indicates because that is what they advertise it on TV. I want this baby wall mount and safe from harm. I hope this will help people decide what LCD they may want.
