Sorry all, hit the wrong button there, lol
I picked up a new laptop 3 days ago. It's a Toshiba Satellite A200-FS2.
It's great and serves all my needs perfectly. I'm quite impressed with the specs for the price of it. Anyway, my problem is with Toshiba.. I got the laptop home and got everything set up after the initial first time booting it up. Everything works fine but I'm not a big fan of Windows Vista at all. I just plain don't like it. The notebook is running Windows Vista Home Premium. I want to put Windows XP on it. Which normally wouldn't be a problem. I should be able to go to Toshiba's website and download all neccessary drivers to do so.. however, the problem is this model doesn't exist on their site! I phoned them up twice about it. The first time I got a rep that I could understand without any problems and he told me that this model was a brand new notebook and as such the drivers wouldn't be released for it yet. Then basically rushed me off the phone. So I called back the next day to see how long or approx. how long it would take for the drivers to be released. This time I got a rep that I couldn't understand if my life depended on it. She basically said that she had no idea when the drivers would be released and apologized on behalf of Toshiba. And once again pretty much rushed me off the phone.
So... after all that I really don't know what to think about Toshiba's Support. I mean I understand if it's a new model it might take time to get drivers released to the public but they wouldn't tell me a date when the model was actually released or anything that might help me figure out how much time it would take.. and it just plain doesn't exist on their site at all. I would think if a company releases a product it should at least be available to buy on their website. But anyway enough rambling on..
i was wondering if anyone knows a way I could still find drivers that would work so I can get rid of this crap Vista and put on XP..
i checked on the support website, and yes the model is a new one. they still don't have it on their data base. usually for toshiba laptops with pre installed vista, you will have a problem with the xp drivers. but go ahead and check it with other websites.
