Is there any way to set my screensaver up so that I can hit a key or
combination of keys to get the screensaver on?

Find the .scr file (likely in Windows or Windows/system32) and create a
shortcut to it on the desktop. Then right-click the shortcut and select
properties and set a shortcut key combo.

Look at third party programs, read what they can do.
