Yo,

I'm trying to finalise my specs for my new machine and I'd just like a bit of help. Having looked at reviews and scores and innumerable graphs it would appear that a single 8800 GTX generally outperforms dual 8700 GT's. My question is whether it's worth it to buy a rig with dual 8700's as opposed to a single 8800. I know the stats tell me it's a better bet to go for the 8800 but surely 2x the video memory must count for something? Any help would be great,

Thanks

Nope, the single 8800mGTX is the way to go. If you really want to blow some money there are systems out there with dual 8800's (see Clevo D901c). Just as an FYI, SLI does not double your video memory. If you have 2 256mb cards, you still only have 256mb of memory.
