Cell phone problems bought on ebay to sign up with verizon

I purchased a Motorola Q from ebay and was an existing verizon customer, I activated my phone succesfully but I am unable to call my husbands cell phone that is on the same account, it says error, everyone else works fine. I can text him though, can anyone help?
