I've just bought a 1 Gig kit of kingston kvr400x64c3ak2/1g ram for my ASUS A7N8X deluxe MoBo, only to find that my 2001 3D marks have dropped by over a thousand, what gives ? when i first installed it I set the bios to "auto" detect the RAM settings and it dropped by 3,000 !! next i set it to read the RAM s built in settings and picked up another 2000 but I'm still a thousand marks down from where i was with just running 512 of 2700 DDR Ram. I would have thought things would have sped up, not bloody slowed down, or I'm I just reading everything wrong.....

what are the best settings for my new RAM config ? any idea's

1 gig of Kingston dual channel ram ( orig 512 removed)

- In BIOS, set Memory Frequency to 100 percent (sync) and DDR Reference Voltage to 2.7V.

- In BIOS, manually set CAS Latency, tRCD (RAS-to-CAS delay), and tRP (RAS Precharge) as low as they can go with stability - try 2.5-3-3. Set tRAS (Active Precharge Delay) to a value at/near tRCD + CAS Latency + 6.
