Trying to Install Windows 7, setup can not find harddrive.

Hello,



















i tried to install win7 in dell laptop, setup can not find harddrive, took out format it with pc, now ntldll missing

Sounds like the CD is not in boot sequence, and it is trying to boot from the HDD, which now, has no OS, as you formatted it. Use F2 at startup and make CD 1st boot device.

If windows startup has started and there was no HDD detected to install on then you might need to install sata drivers from a CD. You should find these drivers on the manufacturers website of your motherboard

Enter into BIOS using F2/Del (depending of model of laptop) and change the Hard Drive mode to AHCI,
set the CD Drive as first boot device,
then restart and do your Win7 install again.
