My laptop should be in a my sig
right now with firefox and speedfan running it says the core is at 67C
that seems way to hot when im hardly doing anything
that being said it doesnt crash or become unstable anytime even when gaming but i dont want to hurt it by having it run this hot for to long
so does anyone know if this kind of temp is normal for an athlon 4000+?
i couldnt find anything using google so im not sure if i should be worried or not

also i read another thread from a long time ago and someone said usb ports are cpu intensive and if that is the case i have all 4 of mine in use

thanks for the help in advance

If 67C is your idle temp, then it is a little high. Not sure were it should be at though. I'm not sure about the USB thing, never heard that before. If you think that's true, disconnect your USB devices and see if your temps lower.

Other things to check:
1) make sure that your cooling fans are operating as they should
2) make sure that they are not clogged with dust or jammed with anything.

edit: Just FYI, laptops won't throttle the CPU down until around 90C or so, so unless your temps are getting that high, you won't see any performance hits.
