Hello everyone,

I've been reading these forums for a while, gathering information and such, but now I need a little advice as to which TV I should pick.

I have it narrowed down to two so far that right now I can get pretty good deals on. The first one is :

Sony KV-30HS420

and the product details link for those of us that don't have them memorized:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/t [...] lectronics

This one I'm going to get off of Amazon for like $959 shipped plus a 3 year extended warranty.

The next one is:

Sony KD-30XS955

product details:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/t [...] lectronics

Thats the technical data from Amazon's page, but I would buy it from http://www.tvsdepot.com where I could get it for $849 shipped but with no extended warranty.

My main questions are:

1) How much value are the extended warranties?
2) What are the differences between the two televisions?
a) I noticed that basically the second one is called a super-fine pitch CRT while the first one is only a CRT (I don't know if thats just wording or if it really means there is a difference)
b) The second one has a built in HDTV tuner while the first one does not
3) Which TV is better suited for what I would like to do with it, which is mainly as my computer monitor in my bedroom but I also will have a ps2 (possibly ps3 when it comes out) hooked up to it. But even with this as my goal right now, if I someday want to hook it up and only use it as a television I want to have that option.
a) If anyone has comments about these TVs being used as computer monitors I would appreciate that too, but I have researched that aspect a considerable amount and from what I have read and what my video card is (Radeon 9700 pro) I believe everything would work out on that end.
