Connecting a wirless router from vista to windows 7

I have my wireless router hooked up to vista I bought a new computer that has windows 7 on it I try to plug in the plug to the new one and it does nothing the light will not blink and I cant even pick up a signle

The router doesn't worry which version of Windows you have. The issue is with the wireless adapter in the new computer. You probably need to initially hook it up to the router by ethernet cable and access the router's setup screens (see literature which came with router for how). Once at setup go to wireless setting and either copy down the passphrase or set a new one. Also note which version of wireless security is in use. Also look at Access List (aka filtering by MAC ID) and disable that.

Back at the wireless adapter you may need to update the driver from the maker's site.
