I am trying to decide on what TV to purchase.

Most of the time, I will be watching SD content as there is little new HD content and I can't afford the serious cable movie packages. (Time Warner NYC sucks!) I hope that OTA HD works, especially for football.
Ideally, I would also like to use the TV as a monitor for widescreen gaming.

In a perfect world, I would be getting something like the new Sony KDS-R60XBR1 and my living room would be wide enough for it. Unfortunately, I lack the money.
Hopefully, in a few years these sets will be cheaper and I will be richer.

For now, I am looking in the range of 600-1600.

I saw a Toshiba 34HFX84 for 699 and 34HF85 for the same price.
Are Sony HD CRT's worth it? The KD-34XBR960 looks good, but I don't know how it would be for games. at $1300-1800 it is a little expensive.

Does anyone know if the KD-36XS955 will suite my needs?

I was originally going to go with a 32 or 37" LCD, but heard that SD sucks on these.

My last option is to dig DEEP and try a $2000-2400 projection screen that does 720p. (Sony KDF-E50A10 or ,Samsung HL-P5063W, HL-P5085Wor HL-R5087W, Hitachi 50VG825, )

Are these worth the extra money?
How is SD on these?
