Hi.
Need to trick my pc into displaying in widescreen on plasma.
I have Philips 50pf7320 and the only pc resolution it supports is 1024x768 which you then can view in widescreen mode with all the proportions distorted.
There's also a HD section which is said to support 1366x768, but when in pc signal mode, nothing is displayed. Is there a way to trick plasma into thinking that it's not pc that's displaying, but something else?

you may need a program called powerstrip to send the correct timings to your videocard. powerstrip knows standard timings/resolutions for PDP's, LCD's ect. - your card just has to be able to accept them (which it probably does). one of the preset timings in the provided list should work but if not you can still enter your own custom timings if they are in your manual (look for refresh rate, front porch, back porch, resolution). in any case, go to display profiles>configure>advanced timing resolutions>custom timings. and if the screen goes blank dont panic. ctrl-alt-s resets back to defaults. hope that works.
