I'm considering buying a new monitor to replace my Samsung 955DF 19" thats starting to hurt my eyes and getting blurry. I have always been a fan of Trinitron tubes and have been considering getting the Dell P1130 but I always have been weary about the .24dp spec. Really I am looking for something that is amazingly sharp comes in black and is 21" or larger (I really don't care if its used or not). I have seen many of you guys suggest the Diamontron sets but I really have never seen one personally so I really don't know what they look like in terms of clarity. Mostly going to use this to play dvd's, surf online and play games at 1280 or 1600, thats why I need a 21". Any suggestions?!?

i'd highly suggest NEC FE2111Sb-BK 22" 1600*1200 NR 92hz refresh rate (rr) arpeture grille, 0.24mm dot pitch, 1920 x 1440 max res 85refresh rate at it. rated as the greatest nec and possibly gaming monitor in its class at na affordibly price $768cnd new, $400cnd used ($250-$500us). its rated as a low cost top professional for photo finishes and and brillent crisp text for a arpeture grille monitor which nec struggled with in its earlier monitors. ps a buddy of mine used to own one (i had a sony trinitron e200 17") so im going with some specs and experience. now if money is no exception. i'd suggest Sony Trinitron GDM-c520k (its either 21"' or 22"'s) NR 1600*1200@ 85hz rr. a true proffesional's monitor excellent colour/image quality (liek most lacie crts) its text isnt as clear as the nec (cause its mainly targented towards photo finishes) and this monitor alone today costs aroun $1500-$2000cnd ($1200-1500us) both weigh around 70lbs. i've never owned this monitor nor have i seen it on display purley specs/reviews, also quikc search revealed hard to find.

Yeah I went with a Sony e540 in black. I sorta wanted a 22 after looking around but I saw the actual viewable space on many of the 21s and 22s were the same so it didn't really matter. My hardest decision was between the Diamondtron and Trinitron monitors but I have never actually seen a Diamondtron in person so I went with what I have seen.
