Upgrading this laptop?

Hi there,

I got this laptop Amilo M3438G for free from a friend because the graphics card was broken (Geforce Go 6800).

I have researched this problem and it looks like it can be fixed by replacing it with either a ATi X1800 or X1900 graphics card.

Assuming once I have fixed that problem with the laptop I was wondering what else I could do to Improve it.
I know RAM upgrades and Harddrive upgrades are relatively simple.

However I want to know about the
The processor in the model is an Intel® Pentium® M Processor up to 770 ( although I dont know which one it is atm) assuming it is a lower model no. Would it be recommended to upgrade the processor.

I've also been told that if I was to put a new Graphics card in. This would make the laptop very hot and also the power supply.

So can I get bigger powersupplies for the laptop and how can I get better cooling for the laptop? ( strap a couple of small fans to the side?)

Last but not least, the laptops silver plastic case is a bit scruffy and I would like to freshen it up by respraying it. So what type of spray paints are safe on plastic and also what techniques should I use.

e.g. Should I do 7 layers of undercoat, then 7 layers of black metallic then leave for a day and lacquer and polish?


Oh just one more question. I would like to light my laptops keyboard up with some nice blue leds. Do you reckon this would be possible?
