Ok, I am building a new system, It will be used mainly for gaming.. Here are the Specs

AMD Barton 2500+ Retail
Shuttle AN35N-Ultra (NF2 Ultra 400)

I plan on overclocking the 2500+ to 3200+ speeds (2.2GHz). Ok now for the memory question, I can get 512mb of Kingston HyperX PC4000 (DDR500) memory for cheap, Like $100 bucks a stick. I plan on running 2 512's to use the dual channel, but I am worried about the timing on these. Kingston says they are CL-3 4-4-8-1T. Would I be better off going with Slower memory for the about the same price, but with better timings or will HyperX work out alright for me? Thanks for any help.

If you want to overclock, you should get a high rated speed, instead of looking at the timings. An increased FSB will give a much faster system performance, even with higher memory timings.

So then this memory should work out good for me overclocking or would I be better off with some Corsair PC3500? Would I see a diff. in speed between to timings? I just dont want to buy the wrong memory and then wish I hadn't later. I have searched the net and no one has done any tests on the PC4000 HyperX memory to compair it to.

When it comes to overclocking become a newbie and go for the bigger number.

PC4000 will overclock better than PC3500 will overclock better than PC2700 will overclock better than PC2100 will overclock better than PC1600

If I were you I would check into the Mushkin series of ram. At least level 1 or 2. They are cheap and come at nice timings like 2-3-3. Just my two cents worth of info.

i have a laptop with 512 MB ram and ATI Radeon 9000 with 128MB shared memory.
the system specs for the laptop says 512MB ram, but i find only 384MB when i run sisoft sandra (and even in My computer). So the question is whether the remaining 128MB is used solely by the graphics card, or does my system have only 384MB ram.

You answered your own question. You are only seeing 384MB because the other 128mb is being used by the video card.
