Ok I've just had this LG monitor for less than 2 days now:
http://www.lge.com/prodmodeldetail [...] gePerNum=6

I was playing a Quake IV demo in 640x480 res (Geforce FX5200!). As I quit to my 1240x1080 desktop; the screen flashed brightly and the cathode ray narrowed down to the middle before I quickly turned the power off. I could also hear and smell something being fried in the circuits.

Now everytime I turn it on, the little green light just keeps rapidly flickering with a a quiet but sharp click sound.

How the heck does changing a resolution mess up a 45 minute-old top-brand monitor?!

(I also left the monitor for over 30 mins with no adjustments as per advised in the manual.)

Can I fix this? I don't think it had warranty.
