emulators in winxp

A friend gave me a cd with almost 700 sega games on but i dont seem to be able to run it in xp. Is it possible to change settings on my pc or is there an emulator that anybody knows of that works well in win xp.

or do a search on kgen, it's a dos based genesis emulator but it works fine on my WinXP machine.
