Hi i wanted to buy ASUS Eee PC 4G XP - Galaxy Black Eee PC Intel processor 7" Wide VGA 512MB Memory 4GB HDD Integrated Graphics. ($400)
But people kept recommending me that if i buy one, i should upgrade its memory to 2 GB. Sure, that sounds great but since if i buy this one, this one will be my first laptop, i have no clue how it looks like inside. Is it pretty much the same like desktops? How do u upgrade laptop's memory?
when you look on the bottom there's a panel with the warranty sticker on it. you have to take off that panel and there will be a stick of ram in it simply pop that one out (press on the 2 silver tabs) then replace it with a 2GB stick (position the stick at a 45 degree angle push in till the connectors are seated then push down to lock it in place)

No, it will not void the warranty. Asus made a statement that upgrading the RAM is a normal process in the life of a PC or notebook and should not and will not void the warranty.
