Video editing ssd

Hello,
A friend of mine is trying to develop a SSD that has a speed more than 900M/s for uncompressed video editing. However, this new SSD may cost as much as 4500. I just wonder how video editors view the new product. Do they really want to pay so much just for a much faster read/write speed?

You'd probably get more responses by posting this in the storage section. I'm thinking though that if such a drive were developed, a higher end video production service would pay the big bucks for such technology.
