Hello,
I inserted a new RAM card into the motherboard and it blew.
Why did this happen?

Because the RAM or RAM slot was bad.
I guess you could have had some static when you were installing it and fried the thing also.

Sometimes this happens when you don't listen to your parents, the universe hates that sort of stuff.

I think you need more info here. Not to be smart but was the power off, were you grounded. You're leaving it to us to guess. What are the HW specs. etc.
