Just a quick question I've been curious about... does the PS/2 adapter that comes with most USB mice these days decrease performance in any way? Or... increase, as the case may (unbelievably) be?

No, ps2 has a polling rate limit (300 times a second?), but I imagine the usb mouse would be more sensitive than an old ps2 mouse which might make it seem faster at tracking.
