Hi, i just recently purchased a Sceptre X9G-NagaII. It's a 19 inch LCD with DVI. I bought it because of its 12ms response time, and the fact that it has DVI. I noticed immediately that the bottom half of my screen was brighter than the top half. I messed around with tilting the monitor, raising it, and with the brightness/contrast settings. Nothing seems to be working. It's not too big of a problem, but the bottom is either awfully bright, or awfully dark. My desktop background is completely black, and the blackness on the bottom half is way too bright, and any icons on my top half are almost too dark to recognize. Now when i say 'half' i dont mean theres a distinct line where i can tell the differece, its a gradual change from dark to light from top to bottom. Does anyone have any advice? or is this a serious problem in which i need to replace the monitor? I'm fairly new when it comes to LCD monitors. Thank you!

As far as I know there is very little adjustment available to the end user on any LCD panel. There may be some color adjustment available to you via your video card drivers. However, this problem sounds to me like a manufacturing issue rather than something that can be fixed by software tweeking.
Seriously, I would consult the warrantee from the manufacturer and also the policy from the place you purchased it.
Together you may be able to get a monitor that is usable without that obviously poor visual display effect.

Good luck

Aw man, i really was hoping for a solution, but if a replacement is necessary, then so be it.
I got this monitor from costco.com, so should i deal with costco, or the actual maufacturer, sceptre?

well I am by no means an expert. Have you tried adjusting the settings offered by the viseo card? They would be offered under the control panel>display icon. If any are there. I don't know costcos exchange /return policy off hand. So I would call them or go over there with monitor and ask. Calling before hand is probably a good idea. Did the monitor come with any manual? The manufacturers policy is usually in there.
GOod luck.
PS: maybe some other folks will chime in here. They are usually not shy to offer assistance
