I have a FIC AM47 motherboard and I have 1 stick of Samsung 128MB DDR2100 RAM 133mhz and 1 stick of Nanya 256MB DDR2700 RAM 166mhz. My front side bus is 133mhz, and so what I wanted to do was bring down my DDR2700 RAM from 166mhz to 133mhz so both of my stick are in sync with my front side bus, is this smart, or even possible? If it is smart and possible, how can I go by doing this?

Did you mean the AM37 with the VIA KM266 chipset?

If so, the motherboard's Clock Generators should clock the memory down to the lowest common denominator. (133MHz signal)

Got a LAN Party that you want people to know about?

Let me know about it.

Er..yeah, sorry. Ok, well, I guess thats good news. I was hoping I could synchronize everything and get a performance gain but oh well.

Hehe, you didn't understand a word he said.

You have 2 different sticks of memory PC2100 and PC2700. Since it's IMPOSSIBLE for your board to run two sticks of RAM at two different speeds, it will run BOTH sticks at PC2100 speed.

But you said you wanted to drop it to 133MHz, and it IS dropped to 133MHz. PC2100 runs at 133MHz clock, which is DDR266. Most Athlons run at 133MHz clock, which is DDR266. So unless you're running a very OLD athlon (pre-XP series) or a very NEW Athlon (XP2500+ and up), you're synchronous, no disappointments there.
