OK I read someplace that a new burner was coming out this year that uses the same lasers it uses to burn the data to etch or burn in a lable onto the back side of the disk.

Where i read this i cant recall, who is making it I want to say HP but .... i cant recall.

Does anyone have any information on this or was i dreaming it up?

It's nothing new, it's been out for a while. It's called Disc T@2, and right now it seems only Yamaha drives are doing it. Not sure if there are other types available for other burners.

No, it was not the CRW-F1, The labling was much crisper and not just the outside edge of the cd, god i wish i book marked it cause now its driving me nuts, i remember the artical saying it was being released in the 2nd quarter of 2004.

It also didn't etch the data side, it does the non data side.
