Sounds to me like the cpu is overheating... like those apps take alot out of a cpu so it gets hotter try getting a better heatsink or make sure its on correctly i have that same board nice board...
amd atllon 900 oc'ed to 990 gf2 gts32mb 384 ram wd 800jb drive (nice drive..) (still building on it
