I am looking for a very portable laptop that is going to be capable of a small amount of gaming. Really what I want it to do is be able to play Starcraft II and Diablo III. Other than that I will be using it for school and wanting to be able to stick it in my backpack and go.

I'm looking for a sub $700 (Maybe under $800) notebook.

I found an HP Pavillion dm3z with:

AMD Turion(TM) II Neo Dual-Core K625 (1.5GHz, 2M L2 cache) + 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5430
3GB ram, 320GB 7200 HD etc.

for $625

It seems like this would be enough to play those games and be a decent computer for a good price.

SCII req's recommend a P4 2.4 GHZ dual core cpu & 512 MB Video

Wondering if you think this laptop would run it okay and/or if there is a better deal out there somewhere! Also would really love to be able to play D3 on this.

Thanks guys!

Just ran into this

http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/Len...

Its a 2.1 Ghz Athlon II w/ a radeon 4200 512MB, 4GB ram and its only $470! But it is 14" rather than the 13.3 of the other. I kind of think the HP would work for me better, I'm just not so sure it'd run the games!

Thanks again,

Michael

Both HD 5430 and HD 4200 are low-end card for gaming,so don't expect great performance from either.
This Gateway laptop with a HD 5650M(which is significantly faster than HD 5430M and 4200M) is a good choice for under $800
