Newegg has the two 17" LCDs I've been eyeing for some time on sale today. The Samsung 172X is on sale for $349 shipped with an instant rebate, and the Shuttle XP17 Lite is on sale for $314 shipped with $80 mail in rebate. Both have DVI inputs and have good reviews. Both are primarily silver, which is what I was looking for. The Samsung has 12ms response time (I'm not a gamer but lower is better), good cable management (except when wall hung, in which case the cables face upwards), and by all accounts is an excellent monitor. Shuttle's is a bit more compact, 17ms response time, has fewer ways to adjust the angle of the screen since it rests on the desktop, and can be turned for portrait mode. Prior Shuttles had some issues with glare, but I'm not sure if the Lite version corrected that or not. There aren't any reviews available specifically on the Lite version.
Any opinion as to which is better? The Shuttle is $35 cheaper at the moment.
