I have recently come upon a dv6875se and would like to push a little more power out of it for gaming/everyday use. I've done a decent amount of work on desktops, but this notebook business has me slightly intimidated. Here are my current specs:
Motherboard: Unknown
CPU: Intel C2D T5550 @ 1.83GHz
RAM: 3GB
GPU: GeForce 8400M GS
OS: Vista 32-Bit

Just hoping someone with a little knowledge in notebooks can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

The only thing that you may be able to change that would be worthwhile would be the CPU. But without knowing the motherboard specs, I can't tell you what would work.

CPU-z would be a good, free program to find that info.

Processor / RAM / HDD are the easiest upgrades.

As far as GPU goes, 8400 GS is as high as it goes, until HP releases something using the same chassis, you're stuck.

According to CPU-Z, the motherboard it's running is a Quanta 30D2 79.29. I'm still trying to dig up some info on it, so far unsuccessfully.

You won't get anything from Quanta, themselves. Its a dead end.
You can only do CPU, RAM, HDD.
