Problem shutting down

Hi!

Around 1 out of 5 times I try to shut down my PC it will start the shutting down process until it reaches the last stage (when it says something like "Shutting Down" ) and then it just stays there... The blueish ring keeps on spinning but it just wont shut down. When this happens I just push the power button for 5 secs and boilá, but the last time it happened I decided to wait... Guess what? After around 5 minutes a BSOD!

How do you think I can fix this?

I have my windows configured so it makes one of those really BIG dumps (this one is about 800MB)

Have iTunes installed .... my son has same issue if you do, but more often than 1 in 5.

Well, I do have itunes installed!

Do you think thats the problem???
